Grief and loss can have powerful impacts upon couple relationships. Grief can resurrect one’s prior loss experiences and the pain of unmet childhood needs. Loss can stimulate existential questions and transformative changes. As each partner grapples with one’s unique journey with grief, partners can experience disconnection from each other, diminished intimacy, and increased reactivity that weaken the relationship at a time when connection, intimacy, and support are most needed.

Donna Tish, LICSW and Certified Imago Therapist, will combine instruction, case study examples, and experiential components to introduce participants to Imago Therapy theories and techniques that can be used to help couples repair ruptures and deepen intimacy as they navigate grief and loss.
